your best and most original Super Hero outfit and get ready to
demonstrate your highly evolved powers."

2009 CENTER CAMP CAFÉ - PERFORMANCE STAGE, AERIAL ACTS & SPEAKER SERIES

The Café is a venue that bursts with a universe of art and unusual
creative expression.
A musical stage features participants playing conversation-friendly
world and instrumental music during the day; and at night hosts an
incredible range of exciting performance -- from classical dance to
rock, opera to marching bands and funk to psychadellic. A spoken word
stage features poetry readings, soap-box rants, comedy, slam poetry and
theatrical productions.

1) Are you a live music performer performing original music (no covers
please), magician, juggler, comedian, aerialist, MC or performance
artist in search of a stage? Well, we have one to offer, and spots are
going fast!

We have fabulous volunteers to help schedule your performances.

a. For your spoken word/comedy/storytelling/soap-box stylings:
magenta@burningman.com

b. For musical performances:
sleepless@burningman.com

c. For aerial performances: (scheduled from 5:30pm-6pm daily)
cafe-performers@burningman.com

d. For MCing: (scheduled from 5pm-1am daily in 2-4 hour shifts)
sleepless@burningman.com

e. For all other types of performances:
cafe-performance@burningman.com

2) Are you an expert on a subject and want to share your BRAIN? (brains ...)

We will be featuring the Speaker Series, Tuesday through Sunday from
11:30am-12:30pm . Full hour and half hour slots available. Special
priority given to subjects relating to this year's Evolution theme or to
subjects of particular interest to a broad spectrum of Burning
Man participants. If interested, contact cafe-performers@burningman.com
Note that these talks should be educational without endorsing a product
or specific group. Whether you speak or not, stop by and eat, I mean,
FEED your BRAIN!

Important Note: We are unable to accommodate fire performances in the
Café and all music must be original. Any recorded music used for aerial
or stage acts should be license - free / performed live.

JaqD Wear presents THREAD REVIVAL a 60's mod fashion show & charity event!

Come join us on Sunday, June 7th, 20009 at The Pearl Hotel located at 1410 Rosecrans Street , San Diego , CA 92106 to celebrate the mod 60's themed fashions of Jaq'd Wear. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America (www.ccfa.org). Sponsors of the event include Face Candy Minerals, Chris Hansen Pictures, Bloo Ruby Productions, Moody Moore Productions, Ian Cosley Photos and Benito Dungo Photo's. In addition to the fashion show, performers include violinist Sarah Burgess, Nikki and Beacon from Circus Mafia, and dancer Cathie Lucas. There will also be a raffle with prizes from Jaq'd Wear and other sponsors of the event.

Jacqueline Berry, founder and President of Jaq'd Wear, has been working in the fashion industry for over 5 years and has a sharp eye for what people want to wear. Her aunt and guest speaker for the event, Theresa Lee, has lived with Crohn's disease for 30 years and Jacqueline's desire is to support CCFA and other charities with her fashion shows and designs. All of her materials are hand selected and crafted by her with the utmost attention to detail and latest fashion trends. Jacqueline first started working with faux furs and fleece and has most recently worked with satin, embellishments, and applique. Her most recent accomplishment was a beautiful velvet gown, the same one worn in the Scarlett O'Hara movie, Gone With The Wind. Her styles include ready to wear swim wear apparel, skirts, dresses, jackets, blazers, vests, as well as custom costumes for various themed parties. As one of her satisfied customers Stephany Andrews explains, "JaqD Wear has an awesome blend of elegance and funkiness, fun and practicality which is in a league of it’s own. Jaq’s attention to detail and keen perception of her customers’ style needs brings the flow of clothing creativity to ever new heights. I’ve purchased everything from costumes and clothing to embellishments and alterations and remain a satisfied repeat customer."
