san diego weeknites

Greetings!
this is a vancouver burner having a little visit in your town.
could some one tell me a place to hang out on a weeknite?
for a drink under the sun, or a beach that people talk to one another?

    We seem to be getting a lot of "May Grey" right now.

    For a carny beach atmosphere, try Ocean Beach or Pacific Beach boardwalk. For a calmer, scenic moment try La Jolla Cove and the environs.
