Hippy James, one of the DPW volunteers was stopped by the Border Patrol and had
marijuana and a bong confiscated. He has a medical card.
It's likely to be dismissed or result in a minimal fine. Still, it's probably a
good thing if he has a lawyer.
He's expecting his first child next month and is currently on disability.
Anyone interested in helping create a small fundraiser quickly for him?
Anything not spent on a lawyer he can use for the baby.

Re: legal fundraiser / baby shower
Thu, October 22, 2009 - 10:00 AMMmm, Obama two days ago directed that federal resouces no longer be expended against marijuana users, dispensaries and growers that are obeying the laws of states in which medical marijuana is legal.
Soooo, the locals NOT get the memo or what?

Re: legal fundraiser / baby shower
Thu, October 22, 2009 - 12:37 PMthe incident happened wednesday night on his way in to decom, and the policy didn't come out of the white house until a few days later. however, it was already clear that the white house was relaxing it's position on medical mj.
i suspect that personal rather than professional reasons were the main motivation for this BP agent's decision to handle things as he did.
this is an important reason for hippy james to show up in court with a lawyer.
