Ha! I saw a documentary last year about guys and their real dolls. My favorite scene was when a guy finally introduced his new girlfriend to his real dolls (he had several) on her birthday. He dressed the real girls up in stripper clothes and birthday hats and decorated the house. Then they had a birthday party for her. Its some good stuff.... the movie looks awesome.

          Wow!

          What good exposer.

Congratulations! If things aren't humming along up there now, they sure will be soon.

I just watched the movie. Much cooler than I expected... very powerful and interesting. Thanks for the recommendation.
              Now what's a Bronchop?

Brownwyn plus Handchop, a married couple of burners that run the Real Doll company. They are two of the most easygoing and down-to-earth people you'll ever meet.

I don't know if they're married, apparently not. Sorry! When you're married you assume everyone else is....

i had to watch that movie in 2 parts, it was that unsettling during the first sitting. Funny that you started a thread, cause i just finished the second part the other night.

I liked the film, it was intense to say the least, and it didn't even rely on sex jokes/scenes to get attention. A couple of the social situations, like the house party he brings the doll too were crazy awkward and hilarious at the same time, which is an interesting combination.

Glad everyone liked the movie, not like we had anything to do with that part. We just make the dolls, but we were proud of our little Bianca..."she’s all growed up..sniff... sniff". Actually it’s our Leah doll that they used. We name the dolls by the face and they used a standard face and body for the movie. One “behind the scenes" story I can tell is that their public relations dept, by they I mean the production company, didn't like the dolls. We offered to take a doll to the premiere but they said it would not be "appropriate". We also got some flack from them for displaying a movie poster at the AEE show in Las Vegas; they threatened us with legal action for promoting the movie, or to be more precise, our doll in it. All of that said, I loved the movie as did Bronwen and we are still getting a bunch of interest from the publicity of it all. For me personally, I was happy to see a "sweet" story about the dolls and not a creepy or weird vibe filled with sexual innuendo to get a laugh. They took a very refreshing approach to telling the story of this guy who uses the dolls for a very different reason than a sex toy. Taking the "creepy" out of doll ownership has been one of my main areas of focus over the last year. The dolls are beautiful, they are works of art. Each one created by hand in our facility, and they are used for so many other reasons than just sex, but that’s a whole other story. As for the derailment of the "Bronchop" or what that is, that slayed me. I got a laugh out of being talked about like a product. Just for the record, we are not married, but we are working on the brand name and hopefully soon the "Bronchop" will be a household name like Coca Cola. It will be huge.....in my best Borat impression....."Big Success"

A screening, huh? I wouldn't mind hosting a screening. The movie was very cute and we certainly did have some giggles because of the back stories from working with these dolls. For the Oscars we took the star, Leah (the face 4 body 6 doll like "Bianca") up to LA to do an interview. She also had a mock E! True Hollywood Story done. Not surprisingly, it's on YouTube and worth the watch. It's very funny.

We also took the doll to the San Diego Cinema Society season closer last week to the guest of honor. She was fantastically well received. Now she's in the truck and gives us a scare almost every time we get in.

As for "BronChop" the name was given to us by Nadia at Burning Man 2006. She apparently got tired of yelling "Bronwen and HandChop! so she combined the two. The name stuck. And no, we didn't run off and get married without telling anyone. For people who live and work and play together, we don't really need the name change and the license to confirm our commitment (or need to be committed?). :o)

          Yay, Bronwen and Matt!

I saw the movie and I agree, I appreciated that it was free of any heavy sexual vibe.... and they made fun of any creepy factor (like when the main character's brother looked under Bianca's skirt, just to check her out). So cute that Bianca became a celebrity in that little town... :D
